Thank you for the sweet anniversary wihess. What a surprise that was!! Our children are giving us a 50th anniversary gathering with friends and family. They are making everything a surprise too but I am sure whatever they do we will just love. 🙂 I was all caught up with my book except for the roses on the cover. I am not sure I will get all these pages done in one week. Love that I can always go back and catch up. As always, thank you for all you talented folks do for us.

SamOh goodie, a post. I can reltae to most of this except the how does 10:00 come around so fast? part. When I am home all day with my monster, 10:00 is like an oasis in a long, shimmering desert. Also, from the sound of it, you are the most popular blog person on the planet. Wow!

Maybe the trouble is that worshipping God, doing penance and believing things about God can all be done without making any essential difference to oneself or anything else. Religion usually stays at this external level, but people at large may well have a feeling that there is something more to it – that we are called not just to believe things about God or worship him, but – much greater – to know God as a reality in the world, in ourselves – and that cannot be confined to the externals of religion. Unless the churches connect with this desire for the spiritual and help people with it, rather than just saying you ought to be part of this religious system, there will probably continue to be the disjunction between religion and spirituality. The two need each other, but at present are worryingly separate.
