Frustrated efforts

Yesterday I lost something that I wanted to donate to charity. Feeling awful, I consoled myself with the hope that God, the fount of infinite goodness, will not allow an effort to perform a good deed to go to waste. God will — in His own time and by His own means — bring the frustrations of his well-meaning creatures to fruition.

When we’ve done our best, God will take over to make everything perfect. The world of goodness on which our eyes are set, in the first place, is God’s project.
